Over a long weekend of deep learning among over 60 committed classroom, school, district, and higher education leaders, the UELC in partnership with Cal State LA Charter College of Education (CCOE) launched its Transforming Schools for Inclusion initiative in Los Angeles County.

Under the leadership of CCOE Dean Dr. Cheryl Ney, the UELC was able to offer a conference session on Creating and Leading Cultures of Collaboration at the 3rd Annual ONE Conference on February 4th as well as day-long leadership institute for leaders in LAUSD, Pasadena Unified, New Haven Unified, among other local school districts, charter organizations, and private schools. Conference presenters and institute expert facilitators included Dr. Sarah Benis Scheier-Dolberg (Teachers College Columbia University), Dr. Albert Jones (Cal State LA CCOE), KiMi Wilson (Cal State LA CCOE), and strategist David Tokofsky working in collaboration with Dr. Christina Kimm and Leila Ricci at Cal State LA CCOE.
