The UELC will run an inaugural summer conference for current and aspiring leaders to engage in leadership training and simulated case studies of complex challenges faced by urban school leaders.

Leaders will develop expertise in the areas of decision-making, collaborative teams, instructional leadership, and crisis management as they engage in simulations on the topics of programming for multilingual learners and special education services.

“Leading Safe Schools,” this module focused on building trust in urban settings as well as the management of sexual misconduct. The program took place on July 15-16, 2015 on the main Teachers College campus in Manhattan at 525 West 120^th Street.

The 2-day conference featured a Strengths Finder and personal leadership workshop by UELC director, Dr. Brian Perkins, a group-dynamics and leadership and decision making component by TC alum Dr. Sarah Benis Scheier-Dolberg as well as small group work on an interactive case study powdered by the ELDEx platform.
