Join SPA Alumni and Colleagues

Many school leaders and teachers are facing overwhelming demands, complex relationships, and uncertain work environment. Often running on empty and feeling tired, anxious, overworked and stressed, many school leaders admit to having difficulty getting through the day without feeling distracted and frustrated with their work, even though they are passionate about the mission they serve. They know they can do better but feel unsure of the path forward.

  • Are you a school leader who faces some of the challenges mentioned above?
  • Do you want to learn and re-establish a self-awareness practice that will help you deal stress and anxiety?
  • Do you want to find ways to incorporate mindfulness into your leadership effectiveness?

This day-long retreat and workshop is primarily for alumni of the Summer Principals Academy (SPA) program. The alumni may invite a limited number of colleagues and friends to also attend. This retreat is an opportunity for attendees to reconnect with their passion and purpose for the work they do in schools and with students. Facilitation will include reintroduction of Self Awareness Training (SAT) that the alumni learned during SPA in order to energize and rejuvenate body, mind, and spirit. In addition, this will be a chance for alumni to network with other SPA graduates and learn about each other’s work around transforming schools and communities across the country.
