The UELC Fellowship Experience

The UELC offers intensive, year-long fellowships for cohorts of leaders. Typically these fellowships span an entire school year and include 30-35 leaders who meet for up to 8 day-long sessions throughout the year. Fellowships allow local school districts to benefit from the expertise of faculty at Teachers College in New York City. The curriculum of fellowships are based on local needs assessments, and UELC Leadership Modules and leadership inventories are selected and customized to meet the specific needs of each fellowship cohort.

Assistant Principal Fellowship in Durham

The UELC partners with Durham Public Schools (DPS) to provide a intensive leadership fellowship that offers a cohort model of job-embedded professional learning to grow local education leader’s capacity. DPS Fellowship spans an entire school year and includes all Assistant Principals for the duration of the year.

All Assistant Principals in the district participate in four 4 half-day sessions throughout the year, working in cohorts of 35-40. 

A Master AP Fellowship cohort meets for 4 full-day sessions with a more intimate and technology-rich professional learning experience.

UELC Leadership Modules were selected by DPS and are customized and responsive to district calendars and emergent local leadership needs throughout the year.
